Nicholas Wood Obituary, Death – Nicholas M. Wood, 37 years old, a resident of S Main Street, passed away on December 15, 2023 at Westchester Medical Centre. He had been battling medical challenges for almost a decade prior to his passing.
The son of Carl and Laura (Ford) Wood Sr., he was born in Schenectady on June 14, 1986. He spent his childhood in the Schaghticoke region and attended Mechanicville High School to complete his secondary education.
Nick took great pride in being a stay-at-home father to his five adoring children. Both the care that he was able to offer for them and the time that he was able to spend with them were things that he took great pride in.
In addition to that, he was a passionate outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed activities such as hunting, fishing, gardening, and going on camping excursions with his family. When his condition forced him to stay at home, he kept himself occupied by playing Call of Duty with his many buddies on his PlayStation 5.

Laura and Carl, he is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Danielle Kirkpatrick Wood, whom he married on September 23, 2007, his precious daughters, Hailey, Casey, Paige, Alexis, and Morgan, his sister Ashley Owens, his nieces Vivana Wood, Makaya, and Jeselle Lopez, his grandmother Joan Ford, his mother-in-law Marge Kirkpatrick and her family, and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Additionally, he leaves behind his other source of pride and admiration, a Goldendoodle named “Buddy” who was genuinely this man’s closest companion. His brother Carl Wood Jr. is the one who passed away before him.
On Friday, December 22nd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be a visitation held at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, which is located at 39 S Main Street in Mechanicville, New York 12118.
