Tulsa Police have identified the victim discovered deceased in the front yard of a Tulsa neighborhood. According to police, Jeremy Wilkes, aged 40, was found shot and killed near the intersection of North Yale Avenue and East Pine Street in Tulsa.
Authorities responded to a call at 1 a.m. on Wednesday from a neighbor who reported hearing shouting and screaming, followed by a gunshot. Upon investigation, police confirmed that the neighbor went outside and observed a body lying in the front yard of a residence.
Police verified that Wilkes was discovered deceased with a gunshot wound beneath his left arm. Tulsa Police indicated uncertainty regarding the events leading up to the shooting, though witnesses reported hearing a man yelling outside approximately at 12:30 a.m.
Through a search, law enforcement uncovered evidence suggesting the victim may have originated from a nearby residence, with further evidence found inside potentially linked to the crime.
The case is being treated as a homicide. Authorities noted the suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
