The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two siblings on Wednesday morning in Blacksburg.
Deputies responded to a call at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Pearson Street.
Upon arrival, they found two individuals with injuries, but the suspect had already left the area.
The victims were later pronounced dead.
The Cherokee County Coroner identified the victims as Shenita Merchelle Roberts, aged 45, and Darriach Derowne Mack, aged 49.
The coroner stated that the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute involving Roberts and her husband.
Officials have confirmed that Roberts and Mack are siblings.
The suspect was later located in the Kings Mountain, North Carolina area, having sustained self-inflicted gunshot wounds, according to deputies.
Currently, there is no threat to the community, as stated by deputies.
