Obituary, Death Remembering Dr. Steven Servantez: A Dedicated Veterinarian and Community Leader

After graduating from Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989, Dr. Servantez joined Badger Veterinary Hospital in 1992 as a small animal practitioner. Beyond his professional work, Dr. Servantez was deeply involved in volunteer organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association. However, his most notable contribution was to the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, where he served as a board member for many years. Dr. Servantez’s generosity extended beyond his role on the board; he was known for rolling up his sleeves to assist the shelter staff and animals whenever needed. His dedication even influenced the design of the new HSSW building, showcasing his commitment to improving animal welfare.

Outside of his professional and volunteer commitments, Dr. Servantez cherished spending time with his family, including his wife Julie, their grown children, and their pets. In honor of Dr. Servantez’s memory, the Badger Veterinary Hospital community will take time for grieving and reflection. The Janesville Badger location will be closed on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd, with normal operations resuming on Monday, March 4th.
