year-old woman arrested in Khandallah homicide.
An investigation into Khandallah homicide was sparked by the discovery of Helen Gregory, 79, dead at her Khandallah home on Baroda Street on January 24 of this year.
Gregory was a cherished grandma, mother-in-law, and mother who was adored, according to a family notification.
According to Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch, a 52-year-old woman was arrested this morning and is charged of murder in connection with Gregory’s demise.
“The 52-year-old is due to appear in Wellington District Court tomorrow,” Leitch stated.
Leitch said last week that the investigation had prompted police to explore the Porirua dump because they thought something had been thrown there in the hours following Gregory’s death by a person of interest.
Leitch stated that they were searching for “particular items that could significantly advance the homicide investigation”.
Leitch said that a search is being conducted at the woman’s house, and a check of the Porirua dump was finished on Saturday.
“This is a significant development in the investigation and our thoughts are with Helen’s family at this time,” he stated.
Investigation is ongoing.
